My freezer APM 6222 DX kept doing this so I checked around to see if the compressor was doing what it should.I then took the cover off the top of the control panel and tapped the relay. The compressor sprang to life! However the alarm kept going off until I pressed the boost button.I checked this out a few times to confirm the resolution then concluded that the relay was sticking, I got a relay from R.S. (although I had to buy 5) these cost about £2 each. I removed the 5 pin relay (only 4 are used) and replaced it with OMRON SERIAL No GSLE-1
original was GSLE-1 - VD but seems to work ok.
Switch off before removing the PCB for repairs I got a belt from it. The pot adjustment spindle got broken by my wife if yours is stll intact there may be a fiddle removing the PCB. Cost about £30 And I now have a vacuum solder removel tool and 4 spare relays, look on the web for desoldering techniques the top tip was adding fresh solder to the old solder then sucking it all back up.
