My 1 gb sans memory card wont format right?

My sans memory card worked but when i put it in my friends mp3 player and formatted it -it should have been able to format back when i put it in my phone and when i reformatted it ,it didn't work i can pull info off of it on my computer but putting things on it wont work -it tells me that its Right Protected and it wont go in WHAT DO I DO
PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME IF YOU KNOW THE ANSWER
