transit deisel pump problems?

hi mate,im a mechanic by trade... not very familiar with the later tranny but the vast majority of later diesil systems use what is known as a "common rail" injection system...i am familiar with with this system, to be honest even if you do use "dirty fuel" any particles would be held in the fuel filter before the pump,the only thing that would get through the filter would be fluid which includes water!!!..... the trouble you do have though is some of the systems use piezo injectors and if your van has these they absolutely hate red diesil with a passion!!!!.....the list is quite long as to what your problem could be but it sounds as though your pump may be breaking up internally
