sorted it - it was the pressure switch tube, just needed a good blow down it. thanks everyone.

The first edge connector is burning inside. Pull it off the timer and clean it out or replace it. If the timer is burnt, we stock at ÂŁ39.90+vat www.emwelec.co.uk
