Mend Citroen Xsara Driving Car

I have a citroen xsara have a engine light come on shape of a K?

I was driving my citroen xsara T reg 1.4 i the other day and the light came on and the car was juddering and going prob at the most 20mph.. i managed to eventually get home though.. can anyone help me with it? could i fix the prob myself..

There are a lot of components that can cause light to come on. your car needs plugging into a diagnostic machine at a garage to read faults in engines computer. then the fault can be fixed.
