Need help with Ford Focus 6006?

Need your help please. I recently purchased a Focus Street Edition with the 6006 CD tuner and it was missing the security strip and it would display -:-- and wouldn't work.

I purchased a security strip (used) on ebay and put it in and Nothing changed. Still displays -:--.

What do you think it may be? For those who have the 6006 Cd tuner, do you get -:-- on the screen when you take the security strip out?
