Is it ok for me to drive my renault megane with the toxic fume filter system warning light on and if I do what is the worst that can happen?

If I read this correctly, it means that the silencer is starting to fill up with carbon deposits. Most manufacturers introduce some Eloys fluid into the exhaust system via a special tank and valve. However, a fast run of 20 miles or so, getting the system really hot can have the same effect.
