Creda Europa S150E oven?

Fan assisted /conventional oven. with top grill.[not to be confused with oven grill mentioned]
Replaced element but noted nothing seemed wrong with the old one I put in around 18months ago after the original blew a hole in itself. The selection control knob on the oven the indicator light doesn't come on [er in doors tells me this after buying new element] and of course fitting new element [no burn out on old one] made no difference. Now she suggests it's the knob or the thermostat. Do these have thermostats as and could that be the fault..... No heat no control knob light no movement in the rear fan where the two ring element is, but here what appears to be a fan going and assisted air blowing out the vent above the seperate top grill but assume its the might be a fan on the oven grill in the top of the oven.
Hope it's not as clear as mud but enlighten me to what else it could be the seperat top grill works but nothing from the oven or oven grill.
Oh lastly No its not on cook time I've checked that plus the control light should still come on but doesn't.
