Question about rust on garage door?

I would use an electric drill and a wire brush. The fine wires from the brush would fly out and stick in me and eventually I would get sensible and put on safety specs etc.

Immediately after it was clean and shiny bright metal without a trace of corrosion I would apply a coat of metal primer then an undercoat to the cleaned part and then several top coats on the whole door according to the instructions on the tin.
