I've just replaced the belt on my Creda tr11 and it is awkward to get on!! The new belts are 6mm shorter so are a tight fit. The old belt said 1866mm but the new one was 1860mm but wider!!
To begin with you need to unscrew the FRONT of the drier at the base. There is also a screw you need to take out behind where it says "reverse action" on the front plastic panel with the dials on. To get behind this plastic panel you need to take the top panel of the drier off! Don't panic it's not complicated and it makes it easier to gain access to the drum. To take the top off, unscrew the screws at the top rear of the drier and the top slides off. The two screws you need to loosen to gain access to the screw behind the plastic panel are inside the machine at the top left of the front panel, opposite to the timer dial.
Once you've taken these out the plastic panel pops off THAT SIDE ONLY!! Don't try and get the panel off completely otherwise you'll damage the dial on the right hand side!! You have to pull and twist the panel on the left hand side out of the way to gain access and unscrew the screw. Once that's out of the way, the front panel is more manouverable and you can also move the drum up and down so you can slip the new belt over the drum.
Now the awkward bit.......getting the belt on the driveshaft!! I used a big screwdriver and levered it on with brute force and ignorance!! There's no easy way, just keep trying, maybe a length of pipe slipped through the belt and over the driveshaft then slide the belt down the pipe and onto the shaft?? I managed it with just a screwdriver and I ain't no DIYer!!
Then it's just a case of reversing the process and putting everything back together!!
