makita BMR 100 site radio - volume control problem?

I've had two Makita site radios do this now, non of them have had a hard life. We should contact Makita to make them aware and ask for a positive solution to the problem.

I have the same problem, it seems to be a common one. Spare PCB's are available but very expensive. I'd rather buy a new radio for not much more than a nre PCB, but I'm reluctant as it probably has the same fault. Come on MAKITA, give us an easy/cheap fix, otherwise another brand will get my money.
