Mend Zanussi 916770505 Dryer Bearing Noise

zanussi 916770505 ( 524AL) drum vibrating?

hi,

hope you can help. The above tumble dryer started leaving black marks on the clothes and was making a grinding noise when running. When i take off the top cover and move the drum it lifts considerably in all directions. Is there some sort of seal or cover that sits between the drum and the door?. It would make me think that a bearing has gone allowing it to move too much.

any suggestions will be appreciated

thanks mike, had a run of bad luck lately the washing machine packed in too. Can you point me in the right direction for a diagram or similar that shows what i need to take aprt to get the bearing replaced.

Hi Keith,
I would say that your rear drum bearing has worn out, another cause of vibration is the front drum seal but since you have black marks on your clothing i would suggest you renew the rear bearing first. Hope this helps.
