Mend Hotpoint TDC30 Help Noise Year

Help needed with 'ratchetting' noise Hotpoint Aquarius TDC 30?

Our 8 year old condenser dryer has just started making a 'ratchetting' noise when the drum direction reverses. Can you help us id what is wrong, please?
Is it worth repairing or should we send it to tumble dryer heaven and replace it with a new model?

its hard to diagnose noise faults on an 8yr old appliance.all parts will be worn.if you plan to throw it away you might as well take it to bits and hopefully you will see or find the cause of the fault. you can then enquire what the cost would be for the part and repair or replace!
