Mend Citroen XSARA 1.9TD Diesel Clutch

Stalling Citroen xsara 1.9TD (1998)?

When started it ticks over fine, after a good run (40 miles) it will stall when dipping the clutch? if not stalling it will violently shudder sort of on the brink of stalling.
