im losing power ?

i drive a vectra 2.0di 16v after running the car for a couple of miles the rev counter goes to zero and i have no power the engine light comes on when this happens if i leave for a while and start the car again it runs fine then after a while it does it all over again ive replaced the air flow meter to no suceess please can u help

HI. HAVE YOU TAKEN IT TO A GARAGE TO GET A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, THIS SHOULD TELL YOU WHAT IS CAUSING THIS PROBLEM, AND ENABLE YOU TO FIX IT. IT COULD BE A FAULTY/CHEAP MASS AIR FLOW,IT COULD BE AN EGR VALVE OR ANY NUMBER OF THINGS, THAT'S WHY A DIAGNOSTIC TEST IS A GOOD BET.I THINK PEOPLE MAY SAY IT'S THIS OR THAT BUT NO ONE CAN TELL YOU FOR CERTAIN,UNLESS THEY HAVE DIAGNOSTICS. HOPE THIS HELPS.
