Fault on Casio Pro Trek?

I have a Casio Pro Trek PRG 60 which has worked perfectly since I bought it in Singapore in January 2004. Suddenly, both the compass and the altimeter have stopped working, although the other functions are fine. Is this a battery problem? Can anything be done about it?
