How do I fix the antenna connection?

I had moved my tv to a different wall and needed an extension cable. The tv has a sky link connection on this tv and I noticed that the cable from the sky link to the tv must have been kinked as when I had previously tried to change channels I had to slightly move the tv cable for the channels to move up or down with the remote. So after I put the extension cable on, I took the end of the tv aerial connections off to see if I could some how straighten them and now for some reason the sky link connection light doesn't light up and not able to get the sky tv in that room. I am wondering regarding when I took the end of the aerial there was the piece of flexible wire should be in a certain way.
