diplomat dishwasher?

the bottons on the top of the door for the prog and start,have fallen down inside the door space .should i just open it up and simly put them back in place or should i try to get the manufacturers out to look at it .it was bought at the end of dec 2008 and instaled in feb 2009.im afraid if i open it up and do more damage we will have to buy another one. cheers to anyone who can help us
