Running hot tap?

Dear Mrs Mallard,
It sounds like the washer on your hot tap has competely disintegrated, which is why despite the tap being fully closed (i.e. all the way clockwise!) the water is still flowing. The washer may have split.
Get a plumber or if you are up to it yourself, replace the tap washer.
