How to program the % key to take 50% off?

I'm trying to program the % key to take off 50%. We are right in the middle of a Scholastic Book Fair and we need your help, please!!

Hi. It is different for each brand and sometimes between models too.
It is easiest just to ring up the item, then type 50 and press the % or %- button. That will save you the programming since it is just needed for a short time by the sounds of it.
If that doesn't work, let me know the brand and model and I'll try to help.
