how do i make my scunchi steamer steam again?

I borrowed a steamer from my neighbor to clean my couch. Im not sure what happened but i refilled it and used it twice. i went to refill and use it for the third time, i let it cool down for about five min ( like instru say) and went to refill it and it blew steam up at me. so i figured i would let it sit for a few more min. i put the rest of the water in later on and plugged it back in and now it isnt even heating up. its not doing anything. the light is coming on but that is all... i need help FAST!! i dont wanna give it back to her not workin!!
