My tomtom has gone dead suddenly. it was being charged and turned on (giving directions) but went dead all of a sudden. It is not dead but still showing Green charging light. can I repair it myself?
have the same problem. any idea which components have gone. I might give the surface mount soldering a go.

Hi Riz, the problem with your satnav is down to a power surge that has blown a component on the main pcb. The problem in the component is so small it would take specialist soldering to repair. hope this helps

Have had this happen. Does it switch on when connected to the charger but not on its own? Found that you need to press the reset button in the base (small hole/end of a paperclip/don't press too hard) while it is SWITCHED OFF and not on the charger. Happened to my daughter's too. Try it and see - cannot do harm and it might help you.

I can't ANSWER that ... but MINE is the same - first happened on Sat 28 Feb 09. Green light on, but it will not start up. HELP !! pls.
