Why does my proline DW6006 smell so bad?

Check the black plastic connector block at the back. There are separator fins between the different pols on the inside, however, in my opinion they are inadequate and a stray strand of wire or whaetever could cause a short generating a burning smell and causing a potential fire hazzard. This isn't supposition. I've seen it happen. Have photgraphs to prove it.
