is it worth replacing the magnetron?

GE combo wall oven & Microwave probably mid 1980's oven is fine (element burnt out 2 x's, but otherwise fine)

I agree with L.A. Replacing with a new microwave will give you peace of mind and a full warranty.

If it is that old then answer is no. Price of complete new microwave ovens these days is not much more than the cost of replacing just the magnetron.
