Mend Hotpoint TDC62 Tumble Dryer Heating Drum

How can I fix my Hotpoint tumble dryer TDC62?

The tumble dryer stopped during a drying cycle - the heating light stayed on, a continuous buzzing noise and a strange smell!
I cleaned all the fluff away, and took some items out - I do tend to overfill!
If you now try to re-start the cycle, the light comes on, the buzz noise starts up but the drum does not move.
Any ideas?
