BELLING SLOT IN COOKER OVEN NOT TURNING OFF?

When I set my clock on my cooker the fan oven light comes on and I can't get it to go off even with turning control to off or down ,and it gets hotter and hotter so I have to turn the oven off at the mains. Is it my thermostat that is sticking and where is it located ?
