Boot won't close?

Love you lot! My boot mechanism jammed and wouldn't close - I did a quick spray with WD40 and then did the dual button pressing as advised...and hey presto! ...worked like a dream...Thanks so much! x

I tried pressing the remote tailgate open at the same time the one under the lid of the closed door and there was a click and it fixed the problem.

Press the boot button on your remote and the actual button to open / close the boot simultaneously and the problem should be resolved.

My boot is opening and shutting and sometimes it doesn't close. It is very frustrating as everytime I have to get out of the car to close the boot and still won't close.

Anyone got any urgent advise to give me would be much appreciated as the car won't close if the boot remains open.

My Boot would not open on my Dynamique 03, but i managed to open with a little help from inside the boot. But now it will not lock again! This is also causing the drivers door to not lock....Tried wd40, any other ideas???

There is a guy on eBay selling replacement boot buttons for £22 inc post. Just search scenic boot.

Also had this problem with my 04 Scenic. Worrying, as without the boot closed, the car is not lockable being all electronic. I pushed the visible lever on the lock across with a screwdriver and sprayed with WD40 which seems to have fixed the problem . Now seems fine. Wish I'd tried using WD40 when the cam belt went at 40k miles. Might have saved me £1900 repair bill.

I had a similar issue, and it was because the latch had "slid" into a backwards position. I simply pulled it towards me, and it all closed fine

this has happened to me also - just keep opening and shutting - it will recifiy itself eventually!! even spraying with WD40 may loosen it - the boot is a nightmare I lost the button to open it and now open with a screwdriver in the hole!! it will probably cost a fortune to repair so I'm sticking with the screwdriver for now

The latch what your boot shuts onto there should be 2 bolts loosen them and move the latch about until its lined up with the one on your boot and then tighten bolts. should fix it
