Mend Singer 201k Cotton Needle Tension

sewing machine snaps to cotton singer 201k em375752?

if i turn the mchine by hand the topcotton snaps after two stitches i have lowered the tension but no good slackening the plate which the needle passes through seems to help i have fitted a new needle as the old one was worn down one sideabove cotton hole

I just got my singer going for the first time. I had this problem when I threaded the needle left to right. Try right to left. So it comes down the end of the machine, through the obvious hook thing, then through a less obvious hook thing on the right , then through the needle right to left.
