Mend Renault 02 plate Warning Light Dashboard

warning light on dashboard?

I was stuck in snowbound traffic on tuesday (less than five minutes from house) when I noticed smoke and a smell coming from the back of the car (Renault scenic 02 plate). I pulled into a side street but no fire or anything. Drove it home and parked up.
When I came to use it next, there is a warning light on the dash advising a problem with the exaust gas monitering system - has my CAT died on me?

hi the only way to find out why the light is on is to take it mto a garage it has to be plugged in to a computer to find the fault number which will then identify the fault it could be a number of things but its the only way to find out for sure usually costs £25 to £30 if you dont use a dealer
