Mend Homelite UT20811 Pull Engine Starting

What is broken on my Homelite UT20811 Trimmer?

The pull string on my HomeLite UT20811 Trimmer retracts but is not catching the engine when I pull it. There is no resistance and it cannot be started. What is broken and how can I fix it?

I have the same model and mine started to do the same thing. I took the housing and everything apart and in all honesty I did not replace anything. I was mad so I just put it back together and it now works again??? Try it, will only take 30 minutes or so.
