Are Calortec electric radiators economical to run?

What energy rating are they and can they run on Economy 7 tariff?

Hi - I need some help here. I have just purchased Calortec 2000 radiator and beginning to regret it rerading these comments. It does not come with Wireless Programmer. I cannot get anything other than a small drible of warmth to come out. Has anyone successfully set it up via the control on the side and if so how. If not I'm within the 14 day money back so will send back

Calortec are trying to move into a market that is predominantly owned bya Spanish company called Rointe. You will find that Rointe deliver everything Calortec promise to, and yes they are energy effecient if set up correctly, and advise on set up should be taken from an energy manager, or from rointe themselves. And no, I dont work for Rointe!

These radiators are very heavy and you have to be multilingual to understand the instructions!
I have just received a 2000w £499.99 one today from ideal world the set up is a fiddle, the finish is APALLING (ours is filthy-and brand new!) the price of the stand is Extortion£50 and the same with the castors £26 and both plus p+p
Remember if you buy individual radiators ones you will have also to buy the wireless programmer at £99(yes no timer on the radiators).I must admit that mine us up to temerature and it is boiling,it may be worth mentioning that children must not touch these units.
Regarding running costs-well- I cant see them being very good in this economic climate we will just have to see.
Ithink I will return this unit and buy a dimplex cadiz from argos for 129.99 quite a saving!

Hi Julie, I believe that you may have mis-interpreted the claim made by this company. They say basically mean that if you leave the readiators switched on for 24 hours set to 21 degrees, they will only consume electricity that is equal to 6 hours of constant use. This is due to a pretty accurate thermostat, and the storage properties of the ceramic. These are not conventional storage heaters like the economy 7 ones.

Sounds too good to be true. And the price when it mainly contains ceramic!! Just look at the prices they charge for the stand or wheels to know that it is way over priced. Sounds like P. Lambert works for or sells calortec radiators.

Yes they are, that why they are bestsellers in France. The main reason is the quality of their thermostat (0,10°C precise) and the programming possibilities you have. As they are of a special aluminium aloid and have a high convection they doe not only heat/warm up air, but they give you a compleet and full heating: black radiation heat. In therms of consumption of the electricity you can organise that to your possibilities and if needed choose a ceramic whom will also acumulate warmth directly. The biggest advantage you have with these radiators is the quality and the comfort of the heat combined with a premium european quality radiator, you only have to use those radiators in those sections of the building (house) you want to warm. With the clasic systems you have to activate a boiler and a complete heating system or you plug in a convector whom burns the air and works and supplies heat as a toaster with cold and hot areas in the room!!! So be sure Calortec radiators assures you of an economical and comfortable warmth the whole year round where and when you want!!!!!!!!!!!!!
