Fix stopcock to 22mm pipe?

is there anything which will fit in a gap cut out of the pipe and then expand or stretch to cover the gap? There is no chance of pulling the pipework to one side, I can just about cut a piece out.

Matt, thanks for that. If I ask for slip couplings then the supplier will know what I mean then?
I can't envisage what they are.

you need to get some slip couplings either compression or soldered, you will need two and a piece of tube to make the gap.
