problem with lexmark 3500-4500 series instal?

I have installed the printer as per instructions, but when I try to add the printer, i get following message- Windows cant oepen AddPrinter. The local print spooler service is not running. Please reatart the spooler or restart the machine.
How do I restart the spooler.
