Mend Panasonic TC-L32U50 Switch Top Set

on switch?

I have a Panasonic 32" the on switch is at the top of the set, some times when I switch on, the stand by lihgt gives way to the on light but no picture yet sound is on, some times it takes a couple of attemps to get the picture I have retuned the set, is this just a faulty switch?
