Mend Panasonic KX-TGA400B 1 Key Not Working

Panasonic #1 Key Not Working?

The #1 Key on my Panasonic KX-TGA400B cordless phone is not working, apparently this is a big issue with these phones but is repairable. I have read something about use of a gel to repair this problem. Does anyone have any information about how to repair this defect? Thank you!
