How can I fix my Hotpoint Aquarius CDT40g Dryer?

The empty water indicator light stays on, though it is completely empty, the condensor has been cleaned, will not allow programme selection, just gives three beeps every time you press start. The on/off light is on. Wife not happy please help!!!
