My washers went off this morning and locked my boot this forum has saved me a costly visit to mechanic for the price of a packet of fuses many thanks and happy motoring

Thank you all so much - read your replies, went to Halfords and bought fuse (10a) and boot now opens and windscreen washers now work! It was pure chance I googled and it probably saved me quite a bit of money! Very grateful.

Just had the same problem last night, and yes the cause was fuse number 7. nipped up to local stockist, 40 pence later problem resolved. Many thanks for the tip!

Thank you sooo much everyone - after spraying god knows how much WD40 into the area found fuse 8 blow - Excellent advice - all works now

Great advice - spent ages trying to find the answer in the manual and, low and behold, it wasn't there. Avoided a no doubt costly trip to the dealer - cheers. Replaced Fuse 8 (10 amp) and back in business.

All of the above is correct, just had the same problem and after replacing the fuse, now resolved

I've had a locked boot and no windscreen washer since last week. Having seen the advice here, I have changed the fuse and both are now working, so THANKYOU!

I had very same problem. Boot wouldn't open nor would the washer fluid pump work. Under the bonnet to the right of the battery fuse box - fuse no. 8 is a mini 10amp (red). Pulled this and replaced it and now all okay again.
New fuse cost me 29p at local shop.

It could be because the boot lock is on the same fuse as the windscreen washers - because it's been cold this week the washer bottle has frozen and if you try to use the washers it blows the fuse so neither the washers or boot lock work.
