E3 error on Baumatic BDW13 dishwasher?

best option before you buy any parts. is to link the wires off the temp sensor togeather. pull the right hand plastic cover off the bottom and its located at the near the back. and run the dish washer if it heats up and does what it should! order one easy diy fix there about £17 try this save big costs

I have a variation to the theme, in as much as my Baumitic BDW13 Dishwasher shows the E3 code but it does not fill at the start of the cycle. Is this the norm when the element or sensor are faulty?

the temp sensors go on these all the time.. I tried chaning the heating element and it turned out to be the sensor.. these are easy to change.. and if you have one that keeps going you can bypass it by connecting the wires to each other..this of course should only be done to get you by until the spare comes.. screw out really simply.


I have the filling a little then buzzing fault??..whats the situation with moving the half full flap that has been mentioned.. I get the feelingthis is something that I can fix pretty easily.. am selling home and dont want to fork out for a new dishwasher.. cheers ;)

Heater element takes about 15 minutes to change. Remove right hand panel as you look from the front. You can then see the nut that holds the element in the bottom of the machine. Pull the 2 wires off undo the nuts (that also has earth wire attached) then pull the element out inside by easing clips over element. Fit new one as reverse process of above.

Think you hit the nail on the head Janet. Mines doing the same. Just buzzing after filling. Found the pump was jammed with the flap that had fallen off the 1/2 load solenoid valve. Managed to get the flap out. Never used 1/2 load anyway! Cost of repair 1/2 kilo's on knuckle skin, lost pint of blood and a wet kitchen floor. Better cancel the new dishwasher now thats order for tuesday.

Hugh is right, it is either the heating element or temp senser. I have the same problem and have ordered heating element from 4silverhillspares. Hoping this fixes the problem if not will need to buy temp sensers.

If you've got the manual it states "malfunction of temp sensor or heating element" and "call for a qualified service tech".

I Have the same error but I think it is the motor spray pump, as the dishwasher is putting in the water and taking it out but the dishes are not getting clean or wet, it is heating up I just cant find the spare part
