Mend Nissan X-Trail Fuel Filter Fill

priming a nissan x/trail deisel?

i have changed fuel filter on x/trail -tried to prime my car and it does not fill the filter with diesel have been at it for 40mins any ideas

Nissan Nissan X-Trail Vehicles, Cars Fuel Filter Fill

replaced fuel filter, filter full with fuel.
engine turns over and runs for few minutes then stops.
any suggestions as to cause of problem?

try removing filter and fill with fuel. if no joy does the fuel pump have a hand priming pump? if yes loosen the bleed nipple on the fuel filter housing and pump till clear fuel spurts out of the nipple. still no joy try cracking off one of the injector union nuts while you get someone to crank the engine over. do this with all the injectors. your problem is that there is air in the fuel system.
