I am having problems with my toilet flushing. The cistern is filling up ok but the flush handle doesn't seem to be connecting properly to enable it to flush. I have tried to make sure everything is connected properly , but at a loss what to try next. Please help!
is it a siphon type of flush ? and if the toilet flush was working before...it could mean you need to change the diaphragm of the system.

Sounds like you need a new handle and opreating rod take it off and to a plumbing shop to get a replacement. Take the lid off and see what happens when you flush the toilet. Then let it fill and pull the rod on the syphone up by hand it should flush effectively if not then the problem might not be the handle but the syphone may need changing.
