Mend Delta Essentials Sewing Machine Repair Needle

How can I fix my delta essentials sewing machine?

The needle of the machine will not feed the cotton up from the shuttle. It appears that the needle does not come down into the slot in the shuttle holder as it does in my old machine, but comes down to the right of the slot.

The first time of use. After setting my Machine Up, after two to three stitches it jammed, tried to Tension Up still jammed, then I noticed the Take Up lever was moving too and fro and the cotton was hanging loose. I felt the Take Up lever should be still, but there is no mention of this trouble in the Instruction Manual. Please can you help. Many thanks. Dorothy

Hi, I bought a Delta machine and for some reason after about 2-3 inches of sewing, it jams up and the thread underneath keeps getting chewed up. Just as I was about to throw it out of the window after this happened 5 times in half an hour, I phoned the helpline who were really lovely and as I had the receipt asked me to return it and they will replace it with a brand new one. Can't ask for better service than that!

Hello Audrey,
If you have made sure the needle is in the right way round then the machine may need retiming, if it is in warranty it would be wise to take it back as soon as possible.
