Replacing broken aerial?

My aerial has been snapped off. Can I replace the telescopic bit only or will the whole thing - wiring etc behind the dash - have to be changed?

Thank you NVSM. I have actually effected a repair by "tapping" both sections and inserting a similarly threaded bolt. I didn't fancy the hassle of getting inside the wing and behind the dashboard!

Depending on the model, it is possible to but a replacement telescopic antenna (both powered and manual types). If the antenna is located on the rear wing, for example, you could take it apart easily. Also, the whole antenna part can usually be replaced without having to go back to the stereo as there is a connector near the antenna
