how to fix canon ip1300?

the paper won't feed in when trying to print,keeps coming up message paper out.tried re-loading and switching on/off but still won't print out,any ideas?

Finally after more than 1 hour of shaking the printer up side down and trying to force paper through the feeder it suddenly worked.
