changing tank in loft?

the tank in the loft has started leaking due to corrosion its a metal tank with metal pipes can i join copper to iron if so how ?.

don't mess about mate replace the tank with a plastic one if you mess with a corroded tank you'll end up flooding the place and then the missus-partner-ball and chain-cat -dog will really not thank you.
