Mend BMW E46 Professional Bmw Series

cd radio?

Hi
I have a problem with my head unit in my 3 series bmw 52 plate e46 its the proffessional version,i only have one side of the speakers working drivers side and have been told its a common fault but cant be fixed,is this true and if not any surgestions of how to fix it or where to get a decent priced head unit from.
