Mend Baumatic BDW13 Dishwasher Fault Display

my Baumatic BDW13 dead?

Brand new when switched on 88 showed for second or so then went off now nothing in display salt and rinse lights on power indicator on timer, prog button seem dead its my first dishwasher so help me please i set up as per the book.
but not added any salt, could this be the problem
