Mend Wont Into Gear

wont go into gear?

having difficulty changing gear.The gears will engage when the engine is off,but when the engine is running they wont go into gear.It is making a tingling sound like on metal.can you suggest anything i could do can i get to the clutch without taking engine and gearbox out?sarah
