clock spring?

There is a little toy called a spring winder and it does a great job there are other ways to do it but if you love your fingers they may not be to your likeing, before you do anything lay the spring on the tabel and just see if it sits flat all the way to the center, if the center is sitting up then it will rub on the barrell and the clock will not work very well, also most of the spring should be towards the outside not bunched up towards the center. if eather of these things has happened then buy a new spring. to do it by hand gently start from the outside and slowly slide the spring into the barrell makeing sure the hook caches on the outside and that you are winding it in the right way not backwords. try very hard not to distort the spring as you push it in. hold it in a rag and goodluck but i would take it to a watchmaker and he can fit it for you pretty fast and a lott safer.
