my tamper light is on and cannot set the alarm type scantronic 9540?

Since carrying out repairs in my bathroom to an internal block wall i set the alarm of while hammering the wall.Now the tamper light comes on when trying to set it.I have opened the control panel and bell cover hoping this would reset but no luck.Any ideas please.It is a scantronic 9450
