Thanks Mark RE: Samsund ER290?

All we want to do is the basic, add, subtract , taxes and total order.

It just printed 2.......1.23
*..........................1.23CA

So it looks like there is not a tax. If it is easier you can email me at marceeeannb@aol.com. Thanks again

Ok.
Tax is usually the difficult bit, since everyone needs a different tax setup around the world.
Firstly, we'll see what it wants to do right now.

Turn the key to REG, or R mode.
Type 123 on the number pad, then press one of the number buttons (these may have product names on them) to the right of the number pad, then press CASH/TEND.

The machine should print, and the drawer should open.
On the receipt, you should see 1.23 as the price that we typed in (never use a decimal point while entering a price. It adds the decimal point for you). You should also see a reference number next to the price. this is the department number (item category). Now see if it is working out your tax as you expect.

Let me know how you get on, and we can go to the next step.
